Fuel up at the Daily Grind Espresso Bar at Symes before making your way back toward Missoula. You'll pass through town on your way south to the Bitterroot Valley, where you'll find Lolo Hot Springs (two hours from Symes). Après adventure, warm up in the mineral-rich hot springs pools. Enjoy dinner at the saloon and stay on-site in a cozy cabin.

Take a soak break and explore the beautiful Bitterroot Valley, boasting Old West charm along the banks of the Bitterroot River. Stop in for tastings at the numerous breweries and cideries. You'll also find cozy coffeehouses, plenty of good food and local shopping, museums and galleries on quaint main streets in the vibrant communities that line the valley. For some outdoor adventure in the snow, you'll find snowshoeing and Nordic skiing trails throughout the valley, and, if you're interested in snowmobiling, the Lolo Peak trail is a popular spot. Plan on dinner at the Mission Bistro in Stevensville and overnight in Hamilton or check in to Lost Trail Hot Springs and spend the night there in a cozy cabin or lodge.

Day 5: LOST TRAIL HOT SPRING

Spend the morning on the slopes at Lost Trail Powder Mountain and then settle in for a soak in nature's hot tub at Lost Trail Hot Springs in Sula. Indulge in a refreshing dip in the outdoor pool and then unwind in the dry sauna. You can also grab a seat in the 8-person indoor hot tub or opt for the roomy, covered hot springs pool. Lost Trail has a restaurant open on Fridays and Saturdays in the winter, but it's best to call ahead and ensure it's open. If not, plan ahead by bringing your own food, or make the 45-minute drive to Hamilton, where you'll find some delicious dinner options.
